A history of the Vignerons de l'Occitane   Contact : info@vigneronsdeloccitane.com

The Vin de Pay d’Oc such as the Côtes de Thongue and the Haute Vallée de l'Orb are the main products of the Vignerons de l'Occitane group of winegrowers.

Our vineyards stretch from the Bousquet d’Orb at an altitude of 600m to Servian in the Languedoc-Roussillon at sea level
.

Five wineries have merged to form one cooperative winery under the name of the Vignerons de l'Occitane: The original wineries were from Servian, Magalas, Puissalicon, Bousquet d'Orb and Octon.

The group was established in 1978 and brought together 800 co-operative members. We exploit 2700 hectares of vineyards which have been replanted with better grape varieties : Merlot, Sauvignon, Grenache, Syrah, Chardonnay and Cabernet.

As well as producing Red Vins de Pays d'Oc wines, we also produce on average 180,000 hectolitres of whites a year of which 60% are single grape variety wines.

Presently our main occupation is to create a new vision for the future by putting in place new production concepts and rigorous, efficient controls, developing a new sort of winemaking.
